Üniversite Hakkında
TBMM’de 9 Temmuz 1997 tarihinde kabul edilen 4281 sayılı Yasa ile kurulmuş bir vakıf üniversitesi olan İstanbul Kültür Üniversitesi, Kültür Koleji Eğitim Vakfı (KEV) tarafından kurulmuş ve 2547 sayılı Kanunun vakıf yükseköğretim kurumlarına ilişkin hükümlerine tabi olmak üzere, kamu tüzel kişiliğine sahip bir üniversitedir. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devleti’nin ve Türk milletinin “çağdaş medeniyet seviyesini aşma” yolunda değişmez hedefine ulaşması, gençlerimizin, hangi aşamada olursa olsun, nitelikli bir eğitim almaları ile ancak mümkündür. Bu bağlamda, İstanbul Kültür Üniversitesi’nin ana amacı kaliteli yükseköğretim yapmaktır.
İKÜ, E-5 Karayolu üzerinde ve TEM Karayolu üzerinde 70216 m2 kapalı ve 57.750 m2 açık alan olmak üzere toplam 127966 metre kare alan üzerinde dört ayrı yerleşkede hizmet vermektedir. İstanbul Kültür Üniversitesi’nin tüm yerleşkeleri kara, hava ve deniz yolu ile raylı sistem taşımacılığının kesiştiği noktalarda yer alması itibariyle kolay ulaşılabilir bir konumdadır, yakın çevresindeki yoğun nüfus açısından ise bir kent üniversitesi özelliği taşımaktadır.
Üniversitemizin alanlarında deneyimli ve öne çıkmış güçlü bir akademik kadrosu bulunmaktadır. İstanbul Kültür Üniversitesi eğitim-öğretime başlama aşamasından itibaren eğitim-öğretimde kalite süreçlerini iyileştirmeye yönelik önemli çalışmalar yapmış ve yapmaktadır.
İstanbul Kültür Üniversitesi; ön lisans, lisans ve lisansüstü seviyelerinde çağdaş teknolojileri bilen; üretim, uygulama ve yönetim alanlarında gereksinimlere karşılık verebilecek bilgi ve deneyim birikimiyle donatılmış, uluslararası iş dünyasında çalışabilecek, meslek etiği felsefesi, takım çalışması becerisi ve girişimcilik ruhuna sahip mezunlar vermektedir.
