An Interior Designer is an individual who identifies, researches, and creatively solves problems relating to the functions and aesthetics of the interior environment and possesses specialized knowledge in interior construction, equipment, materials, furniture, and building codes.
The Interior Design Programme at Beykoz University provides students with the necessary skills to design and execute interior design projects including their furnishings. The programme will familiarize the students with the fundamentals in design attributes of materials, lighting, furniture, textiles, architectural history, specifications, building codes and building systems.
The programme is designed to educate students in the fundamentals of interior design and building sciences through a comprehensive study combining the theoretical and practical concepts of design, building systems, components, and construction.
The graduates will be able find the opportunity to work in the drawing and manufacturing processes of architectural and interior design projects, serve as sales representatives in the sales and marketing departments of building and decoration material manufacturers, or work as product designer and inspection supervisors in product development departments.
The Interior Design Associate Degree Programme Graduates; will be equipped and competent in the field of interior design. They will be able to produce creative and original designs using knowledge of materials and production techniques in the interior.
The graduates will able to convey designs and thoughts visually and use written and verbal communication effectively. They will be able to use the presentation techniques effectively, interpret basic design concepts and they will have the ability to apply theoretical knowledge on furniture design and construction systems.
The graduates will be knowledgeable in lighting techniques in interior design. They will have the ability to manage the design process effectively by developing interior designs in a computerized environment.
The graduates will have the competencies developed in line with the expectations of the business world and the society at a basic level. They will be able to evaluate and analyse problems relative to the interior built environment and develop solutions that meet the economic, social, technical, and aesthetic needs of the clients.
