İstanbul Kültür University, Department of Communication Design is committed to providing students with a critical understanding of film, photography and video, design and digital media with academicians who are well known in their fields. The Department has a modular structure and provides education in the following three areas.
1) Film
2) Photography and video
3) Graphic design
Our compulsory courses, such as Contemporary Art, Popular Culture, Art Texts, Cultural Studies, Experimental Art Workshop, and Multimedia Applications, integrate studies in art, history, theory, and criticism with film, photography and video and graphic design.
Departmental electives can be selected from film, photography and video and graphic design courses to support the modular construction. These courses are held in Mac and PC laboratories, film and photography studios and in the darkroom. Our departmental elective courses give our students the ability to expand their creative possibilities as future filmmakers, photography and video artists and graphic designers and have a visual curriculum that best reflects and promotes themselves when they graduate.
In the direction of the technological developments of today and the changing artistic and cultural perception styles, the Department of Communication Design constantly updates itself both in its curriculum and academic structure, in order to share contemporary art practices with students in the best possible environments.
