The Medical Laboratory Techniques Programme at Fenerbahçe University aims to raise qualified technicians who will be skilled in analysis in clinical biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, molecular biology and genetic laboratories.
The programme is designed to prepare students to become professional entry-level medical laboratory technicians.
The programme will equip the students with basic and specialized laboratory skills, computer technology and knowledge of the human body.
The graduates can work as a medical laboratory technologist, a medical laboratory scientist or a biological technician. They can work in laboratories of hospitals, clinics, private laboratories, public healthcare institutions, research and development departments of companies and research centres.
The Medical Laboratory Techniques Associate Degree Programme Graduates; will have the knowledge and skills to provide accurate and precise laboratory results requested by the physician to help diagnose, treat, and monitor disease.
The graduates will have knowledge about job security in the laboratory, personal protective equipment, sterilization, disinfection, medical waste management. They will have the skills to use the materials used in laboratory.
The graduates will have knowledge of patient rights, privacy and employee rights and they will be aware of professional, scientific, cultural and ethical values.
The graduates will have the knowledge and skills to interpret and evaluate data, define and analyse problems, develop evidence-based solutions by using acquired basic knowledge and skills in the field.
The graduates will have an understanding of the basic professional legislation related to the field, and act in accordance with social, cultural and legal rights and responsibilities.
The graduates will have knowledge of individual and public health, environmental protection and occupational safety issues and an understanding of the basic relationship between them.
