The advancement in mobile and internet technologies in recent years have boosted the digital games industry all over the world to reach a number more than 2 billion gamers.
Digital game industry has been developing in Turkey as well. There is a market value of approximately 755 million U.S. dollars. This emerging industry needs human resources to design and develop games.
Not only the younger generations but people from all ages are playing more and more games now. In Turkey, it is expected 30 million gamers play 39 million hours of digital games every single day. The number of gamers in Turkey is estimated to reach a number between 50-60 million in the next 5 years. The government plans for the future to include digital games as a field to be supported.
The programme aims to educate qualified and efficient professionals who will constantly improve themselves in line with the needs of the sector by following technological and artistic innovations.
The Digital Game Design Degree Programme Graduates; will have the skills to design a digital game project as a concept, and plan and analyse the situation. The students will be able to develop aesthetic and algorithmic dimensions of digital games together and dominate the game design software.
The graduates will have historical and theoretical knowledge about analog and digital games and use the software related to game design effectively.
The graduates, having acquired the artistic design knowledge to support digital game design process and the knowledge to use the software related to game design effectively will be able to manage a game design process and transform an idea into a finished project.
