Physiotherapy is considered as one of the branches of medicine which has become increasingly important in the recent years, and scientific data indicates that there is a significant need for physical therapy personnel.
Physiotherapy attempts to cure diseases of the movement system and restore the impaired functions. Physiotherapy and rehabilitation is used in the treatment of many diseases such as rheumatic, orthopaedic, neurological, respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.
The aim of the Physiotherapy Programme of Beykoz University is to train assistive health personnel who can use the technological tools and equipment in the field of physiotherapy and can perform the physiotherapy applications in cooperation with the physical therapy doctors and physiotherapists.
Physiotherapy programme graduates can find employment at physical therapy and rehabilitation centres, in the rehabilitation units of public and private hospitals, special education and rehabilitation centres, sports clubs, retirement homes, prosthetic-orthotic production and rehabilitation centres, spas, SPA and thermal facilities.
The Physiotherapy Degree Associate Programme Graduates; will have knowledge of basic anatomy, and theoretical and practical knowledge of the physiotherapy field. They will be equipped with the competencies to professionally evaluate and apply the information obtained from theoretical and applied courses at the basic level.
The graduates will be able to use up-to-date knowledge for physiotherapy technician applications. They will have the ability to use the equipment used in the field of physiotherapy. They will be able to interpret and evaluate data, define problems, do analysis, and produce solutions based on proof with using basic level knowledge and practices gained within the field.
The graduates will have gained sufficient consciousness about the issues of universality of social rights, social justice, quality, cultural values as well as environmental protection and worker’s health and security.
