About the University
Gazi University was founded in Ankara, the capital city of Turkey in 1926. With its history approaching a hundred years, it is one of Turkey’s leading universities. Gazi University aims to carry out scientific studies in order to reach the information society, thus to produce information, to transfer the produced information to students and other segments of the society through education, to disseminate it through information technologies, and as a result, to transform it into efficiencies that increase productivity in all areas of the society. Gazi University contributes to the production of knowledge through associate, undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate programs.
The core values of the university are being a pioneer in education and research, questioning and being innovative, respectful to the people, responsible for the society, having ethical values, being merit-based, self-belonging, self-confident and aware of its geographical responsibilities. In this context, Gazi University has adopted an active learning approach based on continuous development in line with international standards in education. Education processes are managed in accordance with “Planning, Implementation, Checking and Taking Precautions (PDCA)”.
Gazi University offers some important programs such as Medicine, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering in English and aims to increase the number of these programs. In addition to being a university preferred by foreign students, Gazi University aims to increase the number of its international students by increasing the number of its English programs and to diversify the countries they come from. Also, Gazi University has partner universities outside Turkey and it conducts collaboration, research, scientific, cultural, and social activities with them in an increasing number every year.
Gazi University offers a wide variety of programs. The university offers 18 associate, 126 undergraduate, 118 graduate and 2013 doctoral programs. Gazi University is in the centre of Ankara and close to many shopping centres, guesthouses, dormitories, and settlements. Transportation is quite easy for students. Most of the faculties are close to metro stations and on bus lines.
