It is the responsibility of the state, employer and employees to maintain and improve the physical, mental and social well-being of each employee in the workplace and protect the premises and all there within the workplace.
It is necessary to have occupational safety professionals who will guide employers in the creation of safe, comfortable and healthy work place for the employees.
The Occupational Health and Safety Programme of Beykoz University aims to train professionals who will provide effective and competent guidance to employers and provide leadership in the occupational health and safety issues.
The programme is designed to equip the students with the abilities to carry out systematic and scientific solutions to eliminate or reduce the risks arising from hazards that affect the safety and sustainability of the people, environment and workplace.
The Occupational Health and Safety Associate Degree Programme Graduates; will have professional knowledge on Occupational Health and Safety and will be equipped with 21st century competencies in line with the expectations of the field.
The graduates will have gained the skills to deal with technical issues and will have knowledge of the terminology related to occupational health and safety at a basic level. They will be able to closely follow the national and international literature and the developments in the field.
The graduates will have sufficient awareness of the universality of social rights, social justice and cultural values and have the basic knowledge of law concepts and business law.
The graduates will be able to identify, evaluate and analyse the hazards and risks that can cause occupational accidents and diseases. They will have the abilities to prepare an emergency plan, and they will be able to plan and perform occupational health and safety trainings.
The graduates will have information about quality management systems and they will be equipped with the competencies to lead a team established to identify and evaluate the hazards and risks in a workplace.
