Many developments have been occurring in the field of health and the importance given to patient safety and patient rights has increased in the light of these developments. Patients are vulnerable during surgery and operating room services and technicians are critical for ensuring their safety and maintaining sterility in the operating room.
The Operating Room Services Programme at Fenerbahçe University includes competency courses, core courses, vocational field specialization courses and workplace practice training.
The programme is designed to provide the students with the basic knowledge and practical application qualifications for the employment of the graduates in the related sectors.
Students who have graduated from the Operating Room Services Programme will be given the title “Operating room technician” and they will be able to work in public and private hospitals, medical facilities and clinics.
The Operating Room Services Associate Degree Programme Graduates; will be equipped and competent in operating room services.
The graduates will have competency in dealing with surgical equipment, patient positioning specific to the surgery, the devices used in the operating room and the preparation stages of the operating room for the next surgery.
The graduates will know patient rights and professional ethics. They will be able to produce solutions using analytical methods and contemporary information technologies in the operating room.
The graduates will have the knowledge and skills to provide protection and maintenance in the operating room environment. They will be knowledgeable in surgical aseptic techniques, sterile bundle opening techniques, sterilization of surgical instruments after surgery.
